Morning spelly,

I am slowly coming around to your creationist view as judging from some comments and grunts in this fine room of ours lately, there ain't much evidence of "evolution".
I think today I will pray for something.
I will keep you posted as soon as I hear back.
But first I have to look for my binder. I lost my binder.

And btw, hang on to that gold.....it's heading to the stratosphere, but don't forget the camel and the eye of the needle....
(smiley face)
sparks7 10/18/2012 8:52:46 AM Report

There must be an empathic saint up there that a guy could pray to for help with lost items. No?
flyhawk25 10/18/2012 9:03:46 AM Report

SQ...ol' Mitt thinks competent women come in binders I'm not going near that one.
I actually lost my sense of humor for a while yesterday.
Just knew you'd help me find it.
right wing 10/18/2012 9:20:46 AM Report

Resumes come in binders but you're not going to get all hung up on one little word now are you.
Retreaded 10/18/2012 9:24:08 AM Report

For a moment...thibk about what Mitts intent was with that comment. In no way was he demeaning women. In hindsight he probably would have been better served by saying he had binders full of resumes from women...which most sane people would know he meant.
Spellchecker 10/18/2012 9:30:47 AM Report

Status, I've known where it was heading since I was a young man at $35 an ounce. It's heading where it always does when in competition with fiat. I'll never have enough of it to worry about the camel and the needle.

Don't kid yourself, Mitt knows competent women. He lives with one and and sparred with one in the primaries and has probably met many others in his business life.

You won't find evidence of evolution here or anywhere else. It began as a theory and remains a theory and will always be a theory until the truth is finally known to all.
Wicket 10/18/2012 9:32:21 AM Report

Mitts' intent is to ALWAYS demean women, he believes women are there to serve him in any and all capacities.
Voiceofreason 10/18/2012 9:34:00 AM Report

Wicket, I'm sure he does, because he's Mormon, and they take religion pretty seriously. But given the other alternative, I'd make him a sandwich and shut my mouth...
flyhawk25 10/18/2012 9:35:41 AM Report

Read a good line yesterday "Mitt Romney has reversed himself more than an attendant in a parking garage".
The American voters aren't too dumb - they see what measures he will take to placate whatever group he's in front of.
Grace 10/18/2012 9:36:06 AM Report

CNN just interviewed the Womens group that Romney was working with and they confirmed that binders were indeed used to present the collected data.

You would think that more people would be disturbed that in the first debate the One continued to use the term "people like us Govenor Romney" reffering to wealth and in the second debate to try to connect with the voter asking a question by using the "people like us" when the gentleman was relaying that he was not doing as well financially under this administration and spoke of his disalusion with the president and his record.
The One's responded with "people like us" Now I found that odd.
Mixed messages. First debate I'm a rich cat...second I'm just an old alley cat.
RW when you have a chance please google what I'm talking about..better than binders!

Questioner says Obama clarified Libya response after debate

Sarah Courtney October 17, 2012

" One of the presidential debate questioners told Fox News that President Obama came up to him afterward to clarify why he took so long to say the Libya consulate attack was a terror strike.

Kerry Ladka, one of the last questioners at Tuesday night's town hall-style debate, said, "He [Obama] said he really wanted to take the time to be deliberate, to make sure he had all the information."

During the debate, Obama noted that he referred to "acts of terror" the day after the Libya attack. However, it took the president and his advisers more than a week to explicitly label the assault as terrorism.

When asked about the president's answer to the Libya question in the debate, Ladka said he thought the president held back "for public consumption."

"I don't think he wanted to give Romney the feeling he was in any way agreeing with him," said Ladka.

Ladka said he thinks the president is an intelligent guy who wanted to be clear to him and to those watching the debate that his administration's intent was to make "absolutely sure" they had rock-solid intel on Benghazi.

When asked if he was satisfied with the president's explanation regarding Benghazi, Ladka said, "I don't want to give him a pass."

Just read something on another online news source about bullying in our Catholic schools. It really hit a nerve with me. It is titled "Living Proof of Bullying's Scars".

Quote from John Bruno, the Huron Superior Catholic District School Board superintendent of education “I think everything that was possibly able to be done at that time with the laws and rules and the behaviors of the day were done by the school and the administrators, the teachers and everybody else,” he added. “I just think that it would be inappropriate to say it was swept under the carpet or anything like that. Sometimes issues take a long time to be resolved and, especially with bullying, it’s not something you open and close the case very quickly on. The ongoing efforts are what’s important and should be considered at all schools.”

I am reminded of the Ken DeLuca Affair that was "swept under the carpet" for over 21 years by the Catholic School Board!

Come on now.......can't you come up with another 'excuse', rather than the one used in the 1990's? I am sure that the children and the parents of children who were being bullied at that time would rather not hear another lame excuse from your board!! I feel that it was "swept under the carpet" and an apology to the students that this happened to would be the right thing to do....and no more lame excuses!!

Kudos do go to the region’s school boards that are doing their utmost to prevent bullying within their schools today. Keep it real.

On a completely different topic:

Earlier today I returned home from running a few errands in various areas of the city. This voyage caused me to send the following e-mail to the mayor.

When one drives around SSM one can't help but notice the increasing number of boarded up structures that are showing up all over the city.Logically, one can conclude that these buildings are beyond repair at a reasonable price, so why are by-laws that apply to these types of structures not enforced? Even vacant lots are better looking than these structures. One of the reasons that I was always proud to live in SSM was that there were no real slum areas. I can’t have that pride any longer. The building on the corner of John St. and Cathcart St. is,perhaps, the worst example of this type of structure. I feel that addressing this problem would be a comparatively low cost way to improve the look of our city.

If others feel the same way please let the mayor know.

Well tonight the teachers just lost my light endorsement. They have been instructed by their union leaders to only have one line in your childs' report card. The teachers say that that can be corrected when the teacher and parents meet. Well, some parents just rely on those report cards. They look at the comments, and try to correct the problems if any. When teachers say they are doing this for the students, they are hypocrites. They are not doing this for the kids. They are doing this for the almighty dollar.
I beleive that everyone who is in a union should be able to bargain, but not at the cost of the kids.
My granddaughter has talked about the teachers taking this into their classrooms. As far as I can remember, the problem with your union and government is NOT part of a class curriculum.
If you have taught for 12 years and have 2 degrees, and teachers do have those degrees, as they have to go to university to get a BA, and then to teachers college, they get this amount and I am not kidding it was in black and white in the paper, $92,000. Most people make only half, and if you make minimum wage, which is about $23,000 give or take a dollar before deductions, they are quite well paid. We cannot afford to give them an increase in wage. The McGuinty government has given the top teachers $20,000. since they came into power. McGuinty's loggo was "Labour peace at ALL COST". At the rate the teachers are going, in a few years you will see THOUSANDS of teacher in the golden club.
So people, say something. Don't sit back on your hunches.

What a difference a couple of debates make huh?

Romney has now extended his lead in key battle ground states such as North Carolina, Florida, and Colorado, and polls are also showing even Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania are now in play.
Romney is now showing his first Electoral College lead of the year.

Gallup now has Romney up 52%-45% over Obama, his largest lead of the year. Indeed, even the far left Daily Kos/SEIU/PPP poll shows Romney leading 50%-46% nationally and 50%-47% in the swing states.

But when you break it down by demographics, it gets even more interesting.

Among likely voters, Rasmussen is showing Romney leading men by 10 points and leading independents by 9 points. He trails women by 4 points nationally which is a huge improvement for his campaign considering he trailed women by double digits as recently as September. In the swing states, however, Gallup shows Romney is breaking even with likely female voters while maintaining his lead with men and independents.

A.E.D., I'd take your money but I don't usually bet with illiterates that spell as badly as you.
I have my doubts you would pay when you lose, and you would lose.

"Mitt Romney’s approval as governor tanked until 65 percent of residents disapproved of his job performance in 2006. It bounced back up as he left (not a good sign), to a whopping 59 percent unfavorable.
Obama is leading Romney by a wide margin in Massachusetts. Not since 1916 has a candidate lost his home state and won the White House. The only saving grace for Romney is that while he is also losing his other home states of Michigan (where he grew up) and California, he has had residences in several other states that he could, perhaps, call home."
