flyhawk25 9/20/2012 7:57:55 AM ReportHere's another bit of Romney reality.
In Ohio a coal company - Murray Energy - supplied the coal miners to serve as a background for Mitt's campaign ad.
So there is the commercial of Mitt standing in front of the miners in work gear and dirty faces.
The problem was that the mine closed for the day for the photo-op and the men did not get paid.
But the owner - who has donated over $400K to the Romney campaign - explained it "Attendance was mandatory but no one was forced to attend."

Nice try....reverting to Politico sources for "news" to bash Romney.
Main stream media is not, as of yet, carrying this 1/2 truth story.
The mine was closed down due to the managers and supervisors wanting to attend the rally, it is unconfirmed that the men were not paid.
It is a local A.M. radio station stating that about a dozen men complained
The workers were told it was mandatory to attend but some did not and faced no consequences or discipline.
Was mandatory attendance due to the fact that perhaps they did get paid for the day?
...and of course Romney was fully aware of all this crap, right.
Talking about scraping the bottom of the bucket for mud.

What's inside is the detrius left by unbridled capitalism looking to keep a dirty fuel source moving.
If you really believe that Mitt was an innocent pawn in this you do need a filter.
Could I extrapolate that Romney really thought those workers were card carrying Republicans?
Oh sure - they just couldn't get a tee time at the country club because it was raining.

right wing 9/20/2012 9:10:49 AM ReportI did some digging into Mitt Romney and Bain capital.
I wanted to find out as much as I could about the claims of Romney purchasing companies and then shutting them down simply to make a profit as reported by the left and it's supporting main stream media.
This is one of the most widely made claims by the left.
The second is that Romney was a "pioneer in outsourcing".
This has widely been dismissed by non-partisan fact-checking reputable organizations.
(the facts are there you can find them)
You do have to dig as you will be flooded by all the claims of Bain's supposed misdealing before you get to the truth.
One of the first things you realize is that the number of companies that the democrats make these claims about is in the single digits compared to the hundreds of companies Romney and Bain were/are involved in.
The truth is it is difficult to drive through most any city in North America and many parts of the world without seeing a business that has Romney's name on it.
The following are the highlights which I have shortened to the main facts.
You'll get the idea.
Staples Inc.
-90,000 employees, over 1,500 locations in the United States and another 700 locations throughout the world.
-started with a 4.5 million investment by Mitt Romney’s Bain Capital.
The Sports Authority.
-first company to create a warehouse-style shopping store for sports enthusiasts.
-sold to Kmart in 1990 and they merged their own sporting chain stores into the Sports Authority model.
-currently the company has over 450 locations and 7,000 employees.
Totes-Istoner.
-Bain Capital purchased and merged two companies together.
-the result was Totes-Isotoner, formed in 1997, and which is today the world's largest weather accessory company and they make umbrellas, gloves, and rain shoes. They have more than 1,000 employees worldwide.
AMPAD.
-one of the businesses Romney is accused of "raiding."
-Ampad was acquired by Bain from MEAD Corporation in 1992
-the company enjoyed a 500% sales increase from 1992 through 1996.
-AMPAD - a manufacturer of paper products - began to see sales fall dramatically, however, as the internet boom started making its impact on the writing world. Not surprisingly, the world of e-mail and online expediency made the paper and stationary industry a tough sell.
-the company filed for bankruptcy in 2001, more than 2 years after Romney left his management position there and eventually shuttered after almost a decade of operation.
(Hmmmm sounds like out own St. Mary's Paper)
Seally Mattresses.
-acquired by Bain in 1997.
-expanded to over 4,500 employees.
-Bain sold the company in 2005 and it is headquartered in Trinity, North Carolina.
Dominoes Pizza.
-acquired by Bain in 1998.
-expanded over the years and went public in 2005.
-today, the company has over 9000 locations (company owned and franchises)
-employs more than 140,000 people.
Steel Dynamics.
-located in Fort Wayne, Indiana
-company was founded in 1993, and Mitt Romney and Bain Capital began heavily investing a year later after seeing the potential for growth and success.
-one of the top steel producers today, has a multi-billion dollar company revenue, and employs over 6,300 people.
Brookstone.
-taken over by Bain, the home gadget retailer, in 1991
-under Bain, they began offering their products through a multi-pronged business model that used traditional stores, kiosks to sell products, and eventually the internet.
-today, Brookstone has over 300 stores and continues to exist in a market where most of their competitors have failed.
I know this post was a tad long folks, but hey googling for good information takes time and I simply got tired of reading the complete lies about Romney and Bain.
If one cannot see (even after a decade of Romney leaving Bain)the legacy he has left behind of investment, economic growth and employment in North America and beyond then you must be a lefty.
You don't have to use "Clinton math" in order to come up real numbers on the employment Romney and Bain has created.
It is more than obvious that the Democrats are cherry picking some failures for nothing other than political reasons.
Could you imagine what the Dems would be doing if Obama had a record of achievement like this!
...but alas Obama doesn't and all they can do is drool over Romney's and shake in their boots as the debates get closer.

There is an article regarding the sanctions on Iran and how it is pushing up un-employment in that country along with all the problems that comes with lots of people having nothing to do. This U S led idea is possibly one of the reasons that many middle eastern countries have a slight dislike of the U S and the west in general, and when (and if) they decide to hit back, will this be the precusor to another WMD intervention like Iraq.
One has to wonder at the mentality of the people who come up with these ideas, you really want to stir up an already unstable country, I guess logic is not a prerequiste for top politicians and their advisors...

By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR | Associated Press
"Nearly 6 million Americans — significantly more than first estimated— will face a tax penalty under President Barack Obama's health overhaul for not getting insurance, congressional analysts said Wednesday. Most would be in the middle class.
The new estimate amounts to an inconvenient fact for the administration, a reminder of what critics see as broken promises.
The numbers from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office are 50 percent higher than a previous projection by the same office in 2010, shortly after the law passed. The earlier estimate found 4 million people would be affected in 2016, when the penalty is fully in effect.
And the budget office analysis found that nearly 80 percent of those who'll face the penalty would be making up to or less than five times the federal poverty level. Currently that would work out to $55,850 or less for an individual and $115,250 or less for a family of four."

It is not the fault of the poor but the rampant greed of the corporate elite.
