In the future I'll try to talk down to you. Jerry I couldn't do something to my bud rw like that. He is just a little tender as his chosen heroes Bush Jr., Harris. Gotta LOVE this!

As M-Ps prepare to return to the Commons tomorrow, a new poll says the Harper Conservative government enjoyed a resurgence in popularity over the summer.

The Canadian Press Harris Decima survey says the Tories have opened up a seven point lead over the NDP while the Liberals are trailing badly back in third.

Good times!

Good morning, everyone.

RW got his shorts in a knot again last night. I was actually called an appeaser, which coming from him seems to be code for anyone who's not a Nazi or a white supremacist.

I am a relative newcomer here so I am still getting used to the dynamic. Someone needs to do a Coles Notes of the personalities on here.

Grace 9/16/2012 8:47:31 AM Report

Jimssm...don't take RW personal...
Problem is we here in the west have followed the teachings of Jesus as written in the New Testiment from the Gospel of Matthew; 38 ¶ Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Grace..

I have to disagree with you.

We in the West have not followed His teachings.....we just like to say we do.
We don't turn the other cheek, and in this world, we no longer can.

My government ordered me to break the 5th Commandment many times, and I justified it to myself by calling the person I killed my enemy.

My life changed when my partner blew the head off an 11-year-old boy because he was laying down and I thought he had a gun pointed in our direction. I didn't see the shepherd's staff until later.

Wisenheimer...

The video was just an excuse used by Radicals for their attack. It would have happened eventually anyways (IMHO) as I believe it was pre-planned.

Libyan locals (Muslims) tried to fight back the extremists, Libyan Defence forces (Muslims) tried to defend the consulate. Libyan locals (Muslims) moved the Ambassador to a new location to try to protect him. Libyan locals (Muslims) took him to the hospital.

So don't paint everyone with the same brush

Of course he also suggested that we send out an encoded message just to the like-minded but I disagreed. A summit without free access to all becomes the start of a cult.Hmm... that might not be a bad thing.
However we could never agree on rules and other things.

If you think you have a case you can sue in small claims court. It's a bit of a hassle but doesn't cost much and you won't run the risk of a liable suit as you might have done by naming names on here.

You want a dedicated ombudsman? This town doesn't even have a Better Business Bureau. That, at least, would be a start.

Regarding Muslims and Atheists...

Atheists have it easier because they are just considered 'lost' and need to be shown the way.

However, another religion telling them that they have the wrong God or are doing it the wrong way, doesn't go over so well.

Good heavens - show up with your new friend at the next summit and have him see how wild-eyed we all are.
I think that the trick is to meet each other if you really want to engage in this silliness.
Over the years I don't recall meeting a Charles Manson type yet.

it still makes no sence. the money she uses to pay for things (rent) comes from the government(tax payers). no wonder people would rather sit on wefare. they pay for everything every month and give you a bonus at the end of the year. so lets say she receives $1100/month from (OW), $400 for baby bonus and $150 for gst every third month. thats $1650.00. plus a drug card that covers most perscriptions....wow

Good Evening All:

flyhawk25 9/16/2012 9:58:43 PM Report

Good question.
I have a glib answer but the truth is that started with my distaste for writers hiding behind a pen name.
The summits have been going on for a few years now and they are delightful.
Some in my view are actually uplifting.
From that some of us have become friends.
As an example I make a point of trying to get over to Hilton Beach to see Spellchecker on as many Saturdays as I can.
Absolutely delightful guy. But politically and on some other things we disagree.
Oddly enough we seldom talk shop.We agree to disagree and find all sorts of things to yack about.
I think we have a few things figured out.
The sun is shining, the view of the harbor is great and the beer is cold.
A few weeks ago he gave me a bag of tomatoes from his grandson's garden and tomorrow my son is using them in a very special supper for our family.
That is the beauty of democracy and a bit of wisdom with age.
I could go on but you get the idea.
