Yep old Bill brought them to their feet last night...funny thing is I lost all respect for him when he openly lied to the American people..."I did not have sexual relations with that woman" Yet he did! We all saw the dress!

I posted this last night but got no discussion so I thought I'd repost as I'm getting tired of American political talk....my apologies to those who have already read it.
I just did some interesting research regarding Canadian Governments which kind of blows apart the idea that Liberals are big spenders and Conservatives are fiscally responsible.
.....PMs since 1963 regarding Debt to GDP ratio ........
Pearson (Liberal)....kept the Debt/GDP ratio stable
Trudeau (Liberal)....Cut our Debt/GDP ratio
Clark (Conservative) Spiked our debt/GDP ratio
Trudeau 2nd term (Liberal) Debt/GDP ratio rose during his 2nd tenure but ended up lower than what Clark had left him.
Mulroney (Conservative) Increased our debt/GDP level to record levels
Chretien (Liberal) Debt/GDP ratio rose for 3 years and then was reduced to pre-Mulroney levels. Went from budget deficits to budget surpluses for the first time in recent history.
Martin (Liberal) debt/GDP ratio reduced each year he was in power. Budget surpluses each year.
Harper (Conservative) From a $13B surplus to a $ 23.5B deficit and steeply increasing debt/GDP ratio.
It may be an overly simplistic measure but there seems to be a pattern here.

How can you even compare Bill Clinton's affair to W's invasion of Iraq!!.....one cost the country some respect.....the other cost them thousands of lives....even more Iraqi lives, and Billions of dollars.....must be nice to see the world through the glasses you got on! Now it's the empty chair theory on steroids - the DNC moved indoors due to lack of numbers not weather.
I dug up the actual numbers.
Fact:there are 65,000 credentialed people there.
Fact: there are another 19,000 on the waiting list.
Try something else before your meds arrive.

Well I have to admit, that Bill Clinton can sure talk...and talk and talk and talk...especially about himself.
Did you catch some of the folks in the audience...eyes glazed over, little trickle of drool, even John Kerry was doing a mouth wide open yawn (no manners that one).
But lets give credit where credit is due, Clinton did a bang up job of highlighting Obama's accomplishments...yes you read that correct...never before in my life have I listened to somebody take so little and make it sound so big.
Of course old Willy has had a lot of practice on himself with that one.
It was like Jesus, yes Jesus feeding the masses from one loaf of bread....Clinton took those one or two accomplishments and kept on slicing em and slicing em.
It was unbelievable.
I learned something about Big Brother as he called it the "Most brilliant. non-partisan speech we've heard in years."...he doesn't listen to very many speeches. Plays bingo a lot instead he stated. Besides Big Bro is still trying to sort out how "Dubya", as he fondly refers to Bush, a man he claims is completely stupid, managed to convince all those Democrats to vote yes to the Iraq invasion.

Slick Willy manged to slide in that if you vote Republican, they will kill children, the mentally challenged, the seniors, the environment and your family pet.

Bush was a very good President or that his election had any relationship to the Conservative Party in Canada. Apparently, in the Republican world rape has to be legitimized and birth control/ planned parenthood should be discontinued. Rather than a consensual affair with one woman (which is sleazy, I admit) they want to send women's sexual and reproductive freedom back to the 60's. Apparently we aren't capable of making decisions for ourselves anymore...

First, I think in a mutually silly moment we may have doubled our bet to two hundred to charity. If you will agree I'd like to keep it at the original historical hundred.My favorite charity does not issue tax receipts any more and the thought of you being out two hundred would haunt me. You see I enjoy our jousts but one hundred is enough.
Which brings me to my second point. I realized long ago that often you just write goofy things just to stir the pot.
As I do.
There is no question that politically we don't agree but so what.Whether it's age or Original Grace we both take this for its entertainment value unlike some who actually get frothy and mean.

If this is the strong hand on the economy, I hope to hell he doesn't put his other hand on it. George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and other American presidents before them made a terrible mess for the American people. I think a president should be someone who isn't easily corrupted by money or fame, is accountable for each and every action or decision they make, actually cares about the American people and not stuff their pockets with money. I know I may be a dreamer but that is my two cents.

His guest Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (US Senator from NY (D)) had some very good points about having more women in senate, cause if they did - do you think they would be debating abortion and issues such as that?

Sweeping Bill's indiscretions under the rug won't work - there's just too much dirt. Defending the indefensible must be tiring.
Dems remove God from the platform and remove a reference to Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Then, add God back and added language back in that says Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.
The change needed a two thirds majority to carry on the floor and had a 50/50 split at best, but they rammed the change through anyway, resulting in a chorus of boos, hisses and jeers from their own delegates.

The Obie's seem not to mind a lower standard for president. All extreamly critical of Bush bashing everything he did but in the same breath can't explain what the big O has done to raise the bar.
Personally I want the best person qualified. The Dem delgates made an error last time round. Hillary has more of the skill sets to have been president.

What you may find funny is I know and freely admit Bush sucked as I can see Obahma does..I think the Obie fans know it but just won't admit the One sucks too!..face it all the presidents have sucked.. some more than others. Then old Willy went on to say how he arrived at all his amazing numbers...he did arithmetic.
Now what Slick Willy did not tell anybody was the he was skewing things more than just a tad.
There were two times that job numbers spiked considerably...once under his watch....and Slick Willy actually claims 1/2 of those numbers (it's in his legacy book ).
What Slick, the math genius, does not want to tell is that was due to...are ya ready for it...the lefties are going to go into a froth over this one...the deficit-reduction package passed by Republican George H.W. Bush, at great political cost to George.

Anyway, it's a beautiful spot for us lefties to hang out. The scenery is spectacular; water is pristine and no sign of conservatives because there's no smoke stacks or oil slicks to make them giddy about the economy.
