CASINO SAULT STE. MARIE PLAYER PROMOTION TO AID LOCAL ST. VINCENT PLACE FOOD BANK

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – Sault Ste. Marie Winners Circle Rewards members can help stock the shelves of the local St. Vincent Place Food Bank during September and at the same time have a chance to fill their fridge with $500 worth of groceries. OLG Casino Sault Ste. Marie has once again paired up with Pino’s Get Fresh to offer the “Lett’uce Fill Your Fridge” promotion from September 1 to 30.

By bringing a non-perishable food item donation to the casino on any visit in September, Winners Circle Rewards Members will receive an extra ballot for the nightly $500 Pino’s Get Fresh gift card draw. All items received during the promotion will be donated to the St. Vincent Place Food Bank.

“We’re proud to bring back the ‘Lett’uce Fill Your Fridge’ promotion” said Val Braun, General Manager of Casino Sault Ste. Marie. “It’s a great way for Winners Circle Rewards members to get involved in the community and help a local charity while having an extra chance to win one of thirty draws for a $500 gift card.”

“This is a wonderful partnership” said Mark Bellini, Manager of Pino’s Get Fresh. “No one in our community should go hungry and what better way to thank someone for making a donation to the food bank than by giving them a chance to fill their own fridge?” The grocery store has also made a donation of three shopping carts full of necessities to stock the cupboards at St. Vincent Place, the Albert Street food bank operated by St. Vincent de Paul.

“St. Vincent Place reaches out to provide basic needs, such as food, clothing and shelter to those less fortunate in our community,” said Nat Cicchelli, General Manager of St. Vincent Place. “We would like to thank our volunteers and organizations like OLG. Without their support, we could not assist our community clients that are in need.” In 2011, the “Lett’uce Fill Your Fridge” promotion and a concurrent employee food drive allowed Casino Sault Ste. Marie’s Community Involvement Team to deliver 35 reusable shopping bags full of food to St. Vincent Place.

The “Lett’uce Fill Your Fridge” promotion is open to Winners Circle Rewards members, however non-members who wish to make a donation in support of St. Vincent Place may also bring non-perishable items with them to Casino Sault Ste. Marie on any visit from September 1 to 30.

OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities. Since 1975, OLG lotteries, bingos, casinos, slots, and resort casinos have generated more than $34 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario. Gaming proceeds support Ontario's hospitals, amateur sport, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
