The Community Liaison Worker program is a resource offered by the United Way of Sault Ste. Marie.
Our goal is to help preserve tenancies and prevent homelessness by:
- Providing information on community programs and services
-Connecting people with those services
-Working with landlords and tenants to develop solutions to problems
-Advocating on behalf of tenants to secure needed services
-Offering ongoing support

-Needing financial help
-In a dispute with your landlord or another tenant
-Need information about community resources
-Unsure about what to do about your situation

Maintaining Housing
The John Howard Society of Sault Ste. Marie provides community outreach and group social skills training to assist tenants in maintaining their housing. Group services are provided at the Soup Kitchen, the Shelters and the Community Hubs. The JHS also provides immediate social skills development for tenants having difficulty getting along with their landlords, other tenants and/or maintaining their housing. 759-1703
