The Canadian Cancer Society is pleased to announce that their Cancer Peer Support Group will now be running all year long! This group is open to past or present cancer patients, caregivers, and anyone who identifies as needing some support due to their experience with cancer.

In addition to the care and support of others who 'have been there', the open, relaxed and confidential group setting provides an opportunity to learn important information, helpful coping skills, resources and share in open discussions on topics of interest to the group.

This FREE year long program will help participants:
* Better deal with the emotional, physical and social aspects of having cancer or caring for someone with cancer.
* Gain insight into how to communicate more effectively with members of a health care team, medical facilities, social agencies, etc.
* Discover how to maintain a healthy lifestyle through developing skills to better manage stress, problem solve and set goals.

This support group is for anyone 18 years or older that has had an experience with cancer. The program will run twice a month, (every second and last Tuesday of the month), starting January 13th, 2015, from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Canadian Cancer Society office, 390 McNabb St. Sault Ste. Marie, ON.

Participants are welcome to drop in as needed, registration of interest is required.
