Labourer/DZ Vac Truck Operator 12/19/2014
Days or afternoons - Approx 8 hrs/day
Wage: starting from $18/hr depending upon experience OT after 44hrs

To operate vac truck to suck/vacuum, haul and dispose of chemicals, organic materials, and other products.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Provide vacuum services in support of daily operations.
* Labour intensive 90% labour, 10% driving.
* Inspection and maintenance of hoses, fittings, and associated equipment
* Required indoc & safety certificates must be valid and carried at all times.

* Driving to location within the steel plant.
* Loading and unloading of hoses, moving hoses while performing daily operations.
* Exposure the extreme temperatures, fumes, gases or airborne particles, various fluids and chemicals.
* Various locations in a day within the plant.

* Valid Class AZ or DZ driver's license
AZ or DZ driving experience
* Vacuum Truck Experience an asset
* Physically Fit
* WHMIS, MOL 4 step worker safety awareness, Confined Space Entry Awareness, Fall Protection, Fit Test, Essar General Safety Indoc,
* All required PPE: Hard Hat with ear muffs, Respirator, Safety Boots (CSA), Muckers (CSA), Safety Glasses, Work Gloves, Safety Vest

Free Training at Sault College YES Project - Develop a Business Plan and Start Your Own Business 12/18/2014

Starting January 12th, Sault College will be offering Youth Entrepreneurship Skills (YES) training for applicants 15-29 years old who are interested in building the skills necessary to create an effective business plan and start their own business. The program will provide all materials required and is free for participants.

The project will include a three week training program with formal curriculum, specialized mentorship, wrap-around supports, and the opportunity for participants who complete a business plan to apply for one of twenty micro-grants of up to $3000.

Training sessions will run Monday to Friday, 9:00AM to 3:00PM from January 12th to January 30th.

Adept at anticipating customer needs and using your business smarts and polished communication and organizational skills, you will support the Foundation�s community-based fundraising and health promotion initiatives in Sault Ste. Marie and the surrounding areas by achieving fundraising goals in the Heart Month and Community Fundraising programs. Your ability to maintain and strengthen partnerships within our community is essential to ensuring the success of our community fundraising portfolio, as is your ability to effectively deploy volunteer resources in program execution.

You bring experience in a fundraising, not for profit or sales/marketing environment, as well as proven business development skills. A diploma/degree from a recognized college or university would be ideal.
Access to a vehicle and valid driver�s licence as well as the ability to work in EXCEL and WORD are required.

This is a part-time flexible contract position paying $12 per hour beginning in January 2015 and ending in June 2015.

Looking for a live in superintendent at apartment building on Northern Ave in Sault Ste Marie. The successful candidate will report to the Property Manager and carry out common area building cleaning, collection of monthly rents, and perform minor maintenance repairs. The incumbent will be the onsite contact for tenants.

Responsibilities:
-Collect monthly rents from tenants, issue receipts, and bring to office
-Clean vacant apartments, show vacant apartments to prospective tenants
-Maintain outside grounds including litter pick-up etc. (snow removal and grass cutting done by outside contractor)
-Maintain exterior walkways in safe condition all year round, especially winter months
-Responsible for keeping common areas clean
-Respond to maintenance requests, cleaning, repairs and service calls
-Maintain confidentiality in tenant relations
-Must respond to tenants and property manager in a reasonable time frame and be reachable at all times through telephone/email.
-Monitor the condition of and address any deficiencies in, the interior and exterior of the building
Qualifications:
-Must have excellent communication, and tenant relations
-Previous experience with basic repairs and maintenance, plumbing, and electrical
-Demonstrate strong organizational skills
-Previous superintendent experience is an asset
-Basic computer skills
