Years ago, the local Kiwanis club hosted an annual Oktoberfest celebration at the Memorial Gardens with live music, games, suds and delicious Oktoberfest sausages. Unfortunately, that festival came to an end quite some time ago.

Years ago, the local Kiwanis club hosted an annual Oktoberfest celebration at the Memorial Gardens with live music, games, suds and delicious Oktoberfest sausages.

Unfortunately, that festival came to an end quite some time ago.

This past Sunday at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre, Loplops Gallery-Lounge resurrected the tradition with its inaugural Oktoberfest event.

Hundreds gathered to enjoy traditional music, pretzels and sausage, dancing, and specially crafted beer from Outspoken Brewing served impressive 32 oz steins.

And of course, lederhosen.
