On the heels of his fifth studio release Life As A Lover, Canadian singer-songwriter Mike Evin is currently on a nationwide tour with a stop scheduled in Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday, October 10 at Algoma's Water Tower Inn.

Declared by CBC Radio as "a rarity - a pop composer who isn’t afraid to use his wit or to wear his heart for all to hear," Evin's soulful brand of piano pop is uplifting, drawing influence from artists such as Ben Folds and Michael Jackson.

Produced by Howie Beck (Barenaked Ladies, Feist, Walk Off the Earth, Kalle Mattson), Life As A Lover "bounds through exuberant handclaps, funky finger-snaps, ohh la la backups and catchy synth lines," states a recent news release from the artist.

Since the release of his debut album The January Muse in 2001, Evin has shared stage time with the likes of Ron Sexsmith, Amy Milan, Dan Mangan, and Sarah Harmer.

His Sault Ste. Marie tour stop at Algoma's Water Tower Inn on October 10 is free to attend and begins at 9 p.m.

Evin is also scheduled to perform in Sudbury the evening of October 9 at the Fromagerie.
