NEWS RELEASE

SEARCHMONT MUSIC FESTIVAL

***************************
Searchmont Music Festival set for September 20 weekend

The mountains of Algoma will again be alight with colourful activities of the Searchmont Music Festival.

The 4th annual event will run September 19 and 20, 2014 at Searchmont Resort.

The festival opens with performances Friday evening and will continue on multiple stages throughout Saturday, along with a full roster of children’s activities, a youth stage and vendor’s area.

Culminating main stage concerts will be held Saturday night.

“Once again we will benefit from the magnificent location of Searchmont Resort and all the comforts and amenities the community and venue offer to musicians, artists, vendors, and the hundreds of festival goers expected this year,” said Kathleen Brosemer, Searchmont Festival Society chairperson.

Organizers received a boost this spring with the announcement of Canadian Heritage funding.

“We are now well positioned to approach a range of local sponsors to contribute to this regional event, which is growing in popularity,” added Brosemer.

In its fourth year, the event showcases a variety of artisans and original music from local and regional performers as well as headline acts from outside Northern Ontario.

The festival coincides with Searchmont Resort’s "Our Mountain Adventure" event, which will offer activities for the whole family on September 20 including mountain biking, hiking, a kid’s bike rodeo, and more.

More information about the festival is available online here and here.
