There's a new joint in town. Sort of.

There's a new joint in town.

Sort of.

Last week, the former Roosevelt Hotel at 306 Korah Road quietly reopened after being taken over by the powers that be at Reggie's Tavern.

Bar Manager Tyler Wilson told SooToday.com that over the past four weeks, extensive kitchen renovations were completed and the main bar received a facelift with a fresh coat of paint and new carpeting.

Now called Reggie's West, the venue will follow a similar entertainment format to its downtown counterpart, hosting live local music every Friday and Saturday night from 9:30 p.m. until close.

But this does not mean Reggie's West is opposed to hosting out-of-town touring acts, said Wilson, should a show promoter contact him regarding a performance idea.

There's still plenty of open dates for live entertainment, he said.

As far as specialty nights at Reggie's West go, patrons can enjoy Wing Night every Monday through Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m. as the venue serves up 20-cent wings, and Karaoke Night happens every Sunday evening starting at 9:30 p.m.

Hours of operation are from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily with the kitchen open until approximately 10 p.m.

Wilson told us the kitchen is currently just serving a few basics such as wings and fries, but he hopes to have a full menu available within the next couple of days.

For entertainment bookings or more information about Reggie's West, please call 705-253-1411.

Always will be.
Asuna 5/7/2014 5:17:46 PM Report

well i guess i wont be going there anymore.
Reggies requires
birth certificate,
passport
drivers license
health card
and the blood of a virgin to get in

While i completely respect getting ID, I dont need to be told i need more than 4 pieces to come into a bar.

Its not the same, they fired the Dj that every one likes for Kareoke on sundays, last call is 1:30, all the security was fired, need I go on. Has a different vibe, no desire to go again !
JustAGuy2 5/7/2014 5:48:31 PM Report

It's about time this place gets cleaned up. Maybe
it will be worth stopping in again.
soowat 5/7/2014 6:08:37 PM Report

Reggie took the bar downtown, changed it from a slum for scum and made it into a cool place to go. Seems like he'll do the same thing to the Rosie. Those that are threatening to stay away are probably the ones that Reggie would like to stay away

I wonder if they'll still do metal night? If not it represents a loss in cultural diversity in our nightlife.
right wing 5/7/2014 6:56:44 PM Report

You can always bring your metal to the scrap yard.
I hear it's around a dollar a pound....
bulletcards 5/7/2014 7:20:51 PM Report

CB4, yes the great security there?? maybe there won't be anymore guns in that bar now
bulletcards 5/7/2014 7:23:11 PM Report

And i would hope it's a different vibe. The amount of low lifes in that bar on a friday and saturday night. Makes me feel like i'm in an episode of lock up.
Koolaid 5/7/2014 8:08:51 PM Report

Ya .. good to get rid of all those wanna be gangsters that were going to the Rosie. Get a life you bottom feeders.
zardoz 5/7/2014 8:23:49 PM Report

Way to go Reggie...clean out those low-lifes and make that place respectable
dobar 5/7/2014 9:59:08 PM Report

crashed13 5/8/2014 7:14:06 AM Report

Hard to believe a bar can make nowadays with only Friday and Saturday nights being busy.
klmm70 5/8/2014 7:33:30 AM Report

Reggie is a successful business man in this city he put his hard earned money into this endeavour to clean things up and make it respectable not just the bar but all the rooms are furnished reprainted with new carpet where was the previous owners money going. It's a huge boost for that area everyone wins Ty Reggie

I don't always visit Reggies but when I do it's always decent. Good service , not too loud, good food and all the Scum don't get in. lol
DINOBOY 5/8/2014 8:38:34 AM Report

and the food will be great with Brent there !
YourFutureNurse 5/8/2014 10:33:30 AM Report

I won't go there now that they fired the Sunday night karaoke DJ, he's at Rednecks now on Sundays so looks like that will be my new Sunday night hangout! :) He was what made the karaoke, not the venue!!!
Tag33&1/3rd 5/8/2014 1:59:42 PM Report

I'm sure the rooms are spectacular. Fresh paint lol
Legend01 5/16/2014 3:15:32 PM Report

Only reason to go there was the karaoke on sunday. Now there is no point so I wont be going. What the other person said about ID is correct. Their doorman at Reggies is an idiot
