Jack Spades The First EP release party

SAULT STE. MARIE - After six months of high profile local shows and a Northern Ontario mini tour, Jack Spades is set to release their debut EP at the Rockstar Bar on Friday, May 16.

They will be joined by their friends, Sault ste. Marie hardcore outfit, Destroilet and the classic rock and metal stylings of Project 421.

This will be Jack Spades' first local show since touring with metal legends Anvil in March, and the first appearance of Destroilet in 2014.

The party will kick off at 10 p.m. with a cost of $5 to get in and check out some Algoma talent, or a $10 cover that includes a signed limited edition copy of the EP.

“I’m proud of this project and these songs. For just a short time being together, we (Jack Spades) have accomplished some crazy things,” said drummer Johnny Belanger.

The EP entitled The First,  recorded and produced by Jamie Vincent and Mark Rand, contains five songs including four originals and an approved cover of the song X by Canadian punk rock icons The Ripcordz.

The logos and artwork were provided by local graphic designer Kevin Powe and the photos in the package were taken by the Sault’s own Donna Hopper during a live performance on the Smash the North tour at the Canadian Nightclub.
