STORIES IN THE NORTH

*************************
Stories in the North is having another of its Open Mike nights on Friday, April 4, and there are still plenty of spaces available.

The event is an entertaining show with audience members treated to original poetry, fiction, true stories and words n’ music from folks they never knew had it in ’em.

People from as far as Elliot Lake and Sault Ste. Marie are signed up to perform in this upcoming show.

The cost for a spot to compete is $5 and performers have five minutes to strut their stuff.

The audience votes by secret ballot to award $50 cash prizes to the favorite contestant in each of the four categories.

The words n’ music category includes original songs, parodies, or poetry with a background-beat or tune.

However a contestant chooses to interpret ‘words n’ music', they must be sure the words are their own.

Admission for non-competitors is $7.

It is fair game if someone stuffs the room with friends and family — they never mind because there are always free snacks and a cash bar.

Location: Thessalon Legion (downstairs) located at 18 Algoma St. W., behind the pharmacy on Main St.
Time: 7:30 p.m. (Contestants are asked to show up at 7 p.m. to get registered and settled in.)

There are four categories; Poetry, Fiction, True Stories, Words n’ Music.

To register e-mail: storiesinthenorth@gmail.com, or call Angie at 705-842-2451

Please include your name and phone number and the category you want to enter.
