The Caruso Club Italian Festival turns 40 - July 5-6-7-8, 2012
SUDBURY - 2012 is a very important year at the Caruso Club because it marks the 40th anniversary of the Annual Italian Festival.
When the Società was founded in 1947, one of its missions was that of being the point of reference for the Italian community of Sudbury.
It has continued to play that role.
In 1972, the Società embarked on what is its single largest event of the year that brings together practically all the committees of the Board of Directors under one banner – the Italian Festival.
During the four-day weekend event Greater Sudbury has the opportunity to participate in all things Italian.
This year’s Festival has a wide variety of events with something for the young or the young at heart.
Some of the highlights include: a full card of pro-wrestling on Thursday, July 5; the popular Regions of Italy Food Fair followed by the Italian Youth Contest take place on Friday, July 6; on Saturday night Sudbury’s own Joey Niceforo of “Destino” fame will be performing along with Tony Silvani and his band from Toronto; on Sunday, July 8 a Zumba session will take place in afternoon along with a Family Bocce Tournament and the Festival of Stars Variety Show will take place in the evening.
There will be an outdoor BBQ, a fishpond where great prizes can be won, a Kidzone, an outdoor tent and Italian food will be available all weekend.
Come to Caruso Club on July 5-6-7-8, 2012 and be Italian for the weekend.
