TORONTO, Oct. 31 - Global Television has announced that the application process to become a contestant on the Special Canadian editions of Deal or No Deal will open today Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at noon ET.

At that time, fans nationwide can go direct to GlobalTV.com to fill in the official application form - and submit it either electronically or by mail - before the official closing deadline of Friday, November 17 2006 at midnight ET.

"We're looking for the country's most funloving, adventurous Deal or No Deal fans to get on board now and apply at GlobalTV.com," said Barbara Williams, senior vice president of programming and production for CanWest MediaWorks. "Throughout Canada, lives are going to change forever.... we're thrilled to be making that happen."

The Global Television network confirmed this critically acclaimed, first-of-its-kind agreement with Endemol USA and Insight Productions early last week - positioning the delivery of five special editions of Canada's favourite primetime gamer, to be taped on-location in Toronto, in January 2007.

Produced expressly for Global Television by Insight Productions and Endemol USA, the five hour-long episodes will be broadcast exclusively in Canada.

Airing on Global Television in the spring of 2007, the special series - led by Host Howie Mandel - will bring all the action of the Deal or No Deal experience direct to its most loyal fans, right here at home.

Fans can stay tuned to Global Television and GlobalTV.com in the days to come for up-to-the-minute information on contests, studio audience tickets and more.

Deal or No Deal with host Howie Mandel airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Global Television.
