Shot in the Dark to stage West Side Story

SHOT IN THE DARK PRODUCTIONS

Open Auditions to be held November 21/28

Hot on the heels of a successful run of The Who’s Tommy, Shot in the Dark Productions is getting ready to stage a production of the classic hit musical West Side Story - and they need a cast.

Auditions for this iconic musical will be held Saturday, November 21 and Saturday, November 28 at Algoma’s Water Tower Inn, in the East Ballroom at 6 p.m. both nights.

Those auditioning are asked to have 16 bars of a song ready to sing (a verse and a chorus) - any song is fine.

All ages and backgrounds welcome - no prior experience necessary.

Directed by Sue Barber and Anthony Aceti, West Side Story is a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

The star-crossed lovers, Tony and Maria, hail from opposite sides of town, and have to battle the biases of their friends and family in order to try to be together.

West Side Story will go onstage at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre from February 24-27, 2016.
