Passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Frederick (Chuck) for 52 years. Daughter of the late Lloyd and Carrie Erskine. Dear mother of Sandra, Maureen, Carol and the late John. Grandmother of Jennifer, Luke, Kerry, Casey, Derek and Erin. Great grandmother of Tristan, Camryn, Eli, Jonah and Max. Sister of Robert Erskine (Shirley), the late Sally Haiko (Jaan), the late Barbara Mills (Dick), John Erskine (Darlene) and the late William Erskine. Sister in law to Donna and John Cole. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Betty was on the original ladies auxillary volunteer team during the beginning years of the Pee Wee Arena and participated in their door to door campaign, canteen sales, spaghetti dinners, billets and making of booster club items. Betty also was a Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church for several years and also helped with the ladies auxillary there. Betty was originally from St. Catharines Ontario and moved here in her early 20's when her husband became a pilot with the Lands & Forests and lived here for 60 years. Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband, son, grandchild and son in law in Greenwood Cemetery. Our sincere thanks to the all those that showed her kindness during her fight with cancer, especially Sam and the other technicians in radiation, Dr. Brigdon, Dr. Spadafore, and the nursing staff in B wing palliative care.
