Passed away at Extendicare Mapleview Nursing Home with his family by his side on October 7, 2015 in his 92nd year. Married to the late Betty Smith for 61 years. Remembered by his son Roger and his children Crystal and Jonathan; his daughter Carole and her children Jamie and Jason;   his daughter Brenda (Tony) Daynard and their children Corey, Chris and Curtis.   He will also be remembered by his great grandchildren Ashley, Nikki, Nicole, Owen, Noah, Taylor, Liam and Madison. Joe was the seventh of ten children of Charles and Clara Wing.  He is predeceased by his brothers Harold (Eva), Harry (Dorothy), Gordon (Molly) and Ernie (Wilna) and his sisters Rosie (Mac) McGregor, Edith (Johnny) Millar, Ida (Bud) Colter, Alice (Charlie) Pinder and Agnes Smith. Joe was born and raised in Ophir and lived his adult life farming at the end of the rainbow in his beloved "Wing Valley".  His love of hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening will always be remembered.   It is befitting that Joe passed in his favourite time of year with the mountains ablaze with colour. Since Joe was a member of the Moose Lodge, family and friends are invited to attend a "Celebration of Life" for Joe at the Moose Lodge on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. A very special thank you to the staff of Extendicare Mapleview Nursing Home for their care and support over the years.
