Proulx, Regent

Passed away suddenly at Sault Area Hospital on Sunday October 04, 2015.  Regent Proulx, in his 84th year was the husband of the late Marie Belec and dear friend of Ange-Aimee St-Martin for many years after.  Dear son of the late (D’Assise and Elvina Proulx).  Loving father of Johanne Conway (Dwayne Mercer) of Chiblow Lake, Sylvie (Mike Hanniman), Alain (Aline Proulx), both of Thessalon, Claudine (Kevin Tynan) of Pine Island.  Loving Step-father to Remi (Lilianne St-Martin), Denise (Camil Godbout) both of Chapleau, Paul (Patsy St-Martin) of Thunder Bay, Andre (Edith St-Martin) of Orignal ON, Late Angele (Robert)of Sudbury, Marie-Anne (Mike) of Timmins, Alain (Chantal St-Martin) of Pontypool ON.  Dear Grandfather of Stephen (Melissa), Shawn (Terra), Danielle (Dave), Natalie (Chris), Neil (Laine), Nan (Quentin), Dean (Vanessa), Larry (Sherri), Jennifer (Adam), Sherrie (Adam), Michael (Vanessa), and Aurora, Step-Grandfather to David, Michel, Melanie, Joanne, Daniel, Joel, Linda, Dmitri, Derek, Cory, Dustin, Christine, Helene, Dwayne, Crystal, Eric, Josee, Janelle, Ryan, Mark and special Great Grandfather to 34 little sweethearts.  Dear Brother of predeceased Fernand (Lucienne), Rehal (Anniston), Marie-Anna (Roger Laplante), Solange (Armand Barnes), Rene Proulx, Mirette (Jean Claude Gagnon (living), Jeanine (Rehal Prevost), Jean-Guy (Andrea), Gaston Proulx, Donald (Eva), Armand Proulx.  He was dearly loved by numerous nieces and nephews.  Regent was born on November 16, 1931 in Cheneville, Quebec, Canada, he loved the country and dedicated his life working in the forest industry for years.  He had a great passion for fishing, hunting and gardening and he loved telling great stories.  Regent kept his sense of humor right to the end.  A private celebration of life will be held at the Church of Christ, Thessalon on October 13th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.  The family would like to send a special thank you to all Sault Area Hospital staff for their great compassion and care during his stay and special thanks to Dr. Rowe of Thessalon Medical Clinic for the constant care.  Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.  Cremation entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon. www.begsfh.com
