COLAK, Pero (Peter)

Posted

August 7, 1926- September 2, 2015 - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a husband, father and grandfather - Pero Colak.  Pero instilled hard work and kindness in his family. He taught them to always love and respect people especially those who were less fortunate. Pero lived a simple life and always put other people before himself. His greatest joy was to wait everyday for his grandchildren to come on and off the school bus and to attend every soccer and basketball game they played. He courageously defeated lung cancer 15 years ago and went on to live and enjoy his family until the disease caught up with him again this past year.  Death can never take a good man away, for in the hearts of the people he inspired, his legacy remains and stays continuously throughout generations.  Pero is survived by his wife Marija Colak who has been his companion and best friend for 62 beautiful years of marriage. His daughter Fran Colak-Florio (Joe Florio) and his two grandchildren Natasha (Steve DeActis) and Adrian. Son of late Jozo and Sima and stepson to Bosilka. Loved brother of the late Andja,  late Mila,  late Blaga, late Mirko ( Terka) late Slavko (Mara), late Andjelko (Lucy), Iva (Ivan), Radica (Ivan). Brother in law to Mladen, late Mateo ( late Marija), late Miro (Zlate),  Anka ( late Josip), Frane (Simun) late Anthony.  Special Uncle to many nieces and nephews in Herzegovina and Croatia. Family and friends may call at O’Sullivan Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (Corner of Cathcart and St. James) on Thursday September 3, 2015 from 6:00m-9:00pm.
