Born April 4th, 1930. Passed away peacefully with family at his side on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Extendicare Mapleview. Loving husband of 65 years to Loretta. Loving father to Dan Jr. (Theresa), Margorie (Joe) Martone and Dave Sweezey. Loved brother and best friend to Ken Sweezey. Much loved Papa to Joey (Jennifer), Michael (Angela) Martone and Kyle (Joyce), Heather (Carey), Ryan, Tyson (Gillian) Sweezey. Loving Great Papa to Matteo, Porter, Adriana and Audrey Martone, Sammy, Nya and Lily Sweezey whom ALWAYS brought a gleam to his eyes and a beaming smile to his face. At Dan’s request there will be no visitation. Donations in his memory can be made directly to a charity of choice. A very special thank you to the staff of Extendicare Mapleview, especially Twin Lakes where he spent the last few years of his life. They were always very compassionate to Dan and family and treated him with the utmost dignity and respect. Heartfelt thanks to Nancy & Diane who could always put a smile on his face. Dan will be remembered for his social activism and strong political beliefs. He had a lifelong passion for physical fitness and sailing. Dan has set sail on his final voyage. Bon Voyage!
