LASKOWSKI, Daatje Fredrika (Meijer)

Passed away on July 26, 2015 in her 99th year. Born September 8, 1916 in Vriezenveen, Holland the second of four daughters to her parents Frederik Meijer and Johanna Aalderink who predeceased her. Predeceased by her husband Henry Laskowski in 1998, her sisters Alie Korver (late Henk) and Grats Post (late Wim) both of Holland and a brother Fredrik in infancy, also by sister-in-law Marianna Tszyrbe (late Roman) and sister-in-law Helena Szrejter (late Josef) all of Poland. Survived by her children Richard (Mavis) of Cambridge and Fred (Nancy) of Brampton. Also by grandchildren Natalie Laskowski of Waterloo, Jennifer Wallace (Tom) of Kitchener, Jeffrey Laskowski of Brampton, Tara Laskowski of Brampton and Lisa Reed (Randy) of Sault Ste. Marie. Also by great grandchildren Graham Reed (Jennifer), Pamela Ficociello (Tino) and Chris Reed (Carla) and their children Jacob and Caitlyn. Survived by her sister Fredrika Kobes (late Henk) of Australia, as well as many nieces and nephews in Holland, Australia and Poland. Ada was a nurse trained in Obstetrics and Midwifery in Appeldoorn, Holland. She married LAC Henry Laskowski (RAF) in 1945 in Holland at the end of the war and afterward immigrated to Canada in 1951 to start a new life in Sault Ste. Marie.  She worked for many years in the Plummer Hospital as a nurse on the 4th floor, maternity. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Algoma Manor for the excellent care Ada received during her stay. A private family service will be held after cremation. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
