Burns, Robert Donald

(December 30, 1927 – July 27, 2015) - Peacefully, at Algoma Manor, Thessalon on Monday July 27, 2015.  Bob Burns, formerly of Sault Ste. Marie, in his 88th year.  Loving father of Janie Burns of Rushden, England, Ian Burns of Dafter Michigan and the late Robert James and Thomas Harry and step-father to Sarah. Special Grandpa Burns to Paul, Sean, Shawn and Keri and 11 Great Grandchildren.  Dear son of The Late Robert Burns.  Dear brother of Catherine, Joyce, Harriett and The Late Jackie.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Bob was a Geologist, and was an active member of the Northern Ontario Prospectors Association.  He taught at Sault College in the sixties and travelled extensively around the world.  Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Bobs life will take place at a date and place to be determined later.  Donations to Algoma Manor Charitable Foundation gratefully accepted.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon, Ontario.  www.beggsfh.com
