McKinnon, Benita Joyce

(October 9, 1927 – July 24, 2015) - Surrounded by her family at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday July 24, 2015.  Joyce McKinnon of Echo Bay in her 88th year, beloved wife of Ephraim McKinnon.  Loving mother of Jim ( Cathy ) of Kinross Michigan, Don of Sault Ste. Marie and Sharon Grasley ( Richard  ) of Echo Bay.  Special Nan to Sheila ( Gord ), Julie ( Sean ), Jamie ( Donnie ), Katy ( Brad ) and the late Sean and Great Nanny to Nicholas, Ryan, Kennedy, Noah, Mathieu, Sean, Alexis and the late Evan and Kaitlin.  Dear daughter of the late Robert and Hilda Carter.  Dear sister of the late Wanda Solomon ( late Tony ), Vernon Carter ( late Verna ) and Orville Carter ( Gertie ).  Dear sister-in-law of the late Reginald McKinnon ( Gwen ), Arthur McKinnon ( late Rose ), Margaret Miron and Iva Dinner ( late Jim ).  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Joyce was an avid quilter who had a tremendous love for her family, and her community.  Cremation has taken place.  Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Gordon Lake will take place at a later date.  Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation gratefully accepted.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon, Ontario.  www.beggsfh.com
