RUSCHPLER, Rudi Otto

Born Elsterberg, Germany June 11, 1929 – June 25, 2015.  Loving husband of the late Ilse for 50 years, beloved friend of Johanna Rivers for 12 years.  Father of Horst (Patricia), Wolfgang (Ann), Roland (Lori Reguly), Rita Rancourt  (Don Chisholm), Helga Vaillancourt (Fern), Ruth Cucullo (John) and Karin Trevisan (Bill Hooey).  Opa of Alex (Shari), Marnie (Andrew), Jason (Tracy), Stephen (Tammy), Ryan (Ashley), Erin (Matthew), Sarah (Marc), Scott (Karen), Brent (Clorinda), Joshua (Kristyn), Rochelle (Robert), Jessica (Rick), Christopher (Kait), Sheila (Daniel), Frank (Anastasia), and Mike (Lindsey).  Great-Opa of 24.  He will be fondly remembered and missed by many friends and family in both Germany and Canada.  Rudi came to Canada with his family in 1955.  He was a master patternmaker, craftsman and over all jack of all trades.  He loved his flowers and immaculately groomed his yard.  He was a regular YMCA member, active in clubs and was extremely social.  He was fiercely proud of his children and the legacy he left behind.  His Sunday afternoon visits with his “kids” were deeply cherished. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating.  Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  Memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  www.northwoodfuneral.com
