MUIO, Don

Posted

After a courageous and relentless battle with pancreatic cancer, the man who never quit fighting passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday April 12th at the age of 65. Don was the loving and devoted husband to Barbara for 42 years. Very proud and cherished father to his three girls, Kimberly Muio Sirivar (Junior), Michelle Gallagher (Matthew) and Jennifer Arbour (Greg). Special Grandpa to Mya, Max, Preston, Ty and Isaac. Beloved son to the late Patrick and late Flora Muio (nee Cescon). Adored brother to Patricia Buczel (Vince). Son-in-law to the late Mario and Ann DeLuca. Brother-in-law and special friend to Brenda Bumbacco (Pat), Ken DeLuca (Irene) and  Wayne DeLuca (Chris). Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Don will be missed by his lifelong friends who supported him every day through his journey over the past two years.  Years of stories, laughter and music will forever be a reminder of their very special bond together. With the changing of seasons in the spring and fall, he will be remembered by his hunting and golf buddies alike. Our gatherings will never be the same, as we will all miss Donny “taking the party to another level”. Friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral mass on Thursday April 16, 2015 at Precious Blood Cathedral at 11:00 a.m. with Father Hamish Currie officiating.  Memorial donations can be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada or online through Don Muio’s memorial page, The Journey Precious Blood Cathedral or the SAH Foundation.  A very special thank you to Dr. Rassouli, Dr. Wilson, and the staff and volunteers of the SAH Oncology Clinic, especially Nurse Paula Greco for her attentive care.  Don’s family would like to thank the staff at ARCH for their care and support.www.northwoodfuneral.com
