BELL, Laddie Garfield

February 6, 1932 – February 18, 2015 – With deep sadness the family announces the passing of a loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle peacefully at home with Ione, his wife of over 59 years, at his bedside.  Dear father of Kathy Hermiston (Derek), Michael Bell (Julie), Mary Jones (Donald), and Andrew Bell (Maria).  Proud Poppa \ grandpa of Kevin, Matthew and Bryan Jones, Kenny and Daniel Hermiston and Eric Bell.  Loving son of the late Violet and Stewart Bell formerly of Gordon Lake.  Brother of the late Earl Bell (Lucille), Eunice Stobie (late Dick), late Reginald Bell (Catharine), Elwood Bell (Ann), Connie Summers (late Larry), Pat Taylor (Lee) and Karen Gallivan.  Laddie was also predeceased by his brother-in-law Bruce Carter (Virginia).  He leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Laddie was employed by the Department of Lands and Forests / Ministry of Natural Resources for 37 years, retiring in 1987 as Fire Control Supervisor for the Sault Ste. Marie district.  He enjoyed his time with family camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, wood working, and travelling with the Sunshine Travel Club.  He also volunteered at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre where his experiences were an asset to the designing and refurbishing of many of the displays.  Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.  Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 3 pm.  Rev.
