SALVALAGGIO, Gelindo 'Gerry'

Passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife, Shirley of 70 years at the Maple View Nursing Home on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in his 100th year.  Born April 30, 1915 in Sault Ste. Marie to Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Salvalaggio.  He loved and was loved by those he leaves behind – his beloved wife Shirley, son Wayne (Jean), daughters Gayle Smith (Nick), Brenda Beith (late David), and Gerry Dunn (Kim).  Loving grandfather of 8.  Great grandfather of 1.  Brother of Lola Pellis (late Oratio) and Gino and predeceased by siblings, Dell Visintin (late Gino), Lou (late Mary), Dina Devoni (late Joe), and Lino (late Marilyn).  Brother-in-law of the late William Brown (late Dorothy), late Les (late Jessie), late Glenn (Grace), and the late Blanche Schroyen (late Pete).  Gerry will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.  A WWII Veteran, a member of St. Andrew’s United Church for 68 years and member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 40 years.  Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday, December 22, 2014 from 1 pm to 2:30 pm.  Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 3 pm.  Memorial contributions to A.R.C.H. or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.  A very special thank you to all the staff at Maple View (Tunnel Lake and Goulais Bay).  Expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com
