LONGO, Mario Romualdo

The family announces with great sorrow the death of Mario Longo on Sunday, October 19th, 2014 at the age of 75 years. Loving husband of Dina (Plastino) and cherished father of Elvira (Marcello Vallati), Maria (Richard Leigh-Bennett), Giselle (Nick Borgonsoli), Anna (John Zoldi) and Mario (Cindy). Proud Nonno of Ermelinda "Mindie", Silvio "Sly", Taylor, Victoria, Robert "Nonno's Buddy", Deanne, Erica and Dina Marina. Welcoming Mario into Heaven are his late parents Guerino and Elvira Longo. Survived by his mother in-law Romilda Plastino (late Raffaele).  Cherished and most beloved brother of Maria Pucci (late Tony) and Michele Longo (Maria) of Sault Ste. Marie, Francesco Longo (Onda) and Caterina Garritano (Franco) of Italy. Zio Mario holds a special place in the hearts of his many nieces and nephews.  Funeral this week in Ottawa.  A memorial mass for Mario will be held in Sault Ste. Marie on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, 7:00 p.m. at St. Gerard Majella, 211 Pentagon Blvd.  In Memoriam donations to the Villa Marconi Long Term Care Centre, 1026 Baseline Rd, Ottawa, ON  K2C 0A6, (613) 727-6201, for a room in his honour, the “Mario Romualdo Longo Sala Teatro”, are greatly appreciated.
