MACKEY, John

Passed away peacefully with family at his side at ARCH on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the age of 65.  Loving husband of Terry.  Dear father of Steve Mackey (Amy) and Courtney Deschene (Corey).  Cherished grandfather of Dylan, Kyle and Laila.  Predeceased by his parents Bruce and Leota Mackey of Hanover.  Brother of Jim Mackey (Sylvie) and Frances Schryer (Richard).  Son-in-law of Alice and Ned Simon.  Brother-in-law of Lynne Bourre (Michel) and Marnie Dawson (John). Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews; Ashley, Sophie, Derek, Kim, Erik, Mathieu, Emma and Paige.  John worked at Essar Steel for more than 40 years.  He enjoyed flower gardening, the outdoors, golfing, hunting, fishing ,  photography and being a handyman to many.  Friends may visit at Northwood Funeral  Home  Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral service in the Chapel on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Captain John Kirschman officiating.  Memorial donations to the SAH Cancer Care Clinic or ARCH would be appreciated by the family. www.northwoodfuneral.com
