PITT, Lenore 'Babs' Christina (nee Corbett)

In her 90th year, passed away peacefully at the F. J. Davey Home on Sunday, September 21, 2014. Babs was the beloved daughter of the late Stan and Lenore Corbett (nee Fisher). Loving sister of the late Stan Corbett (late Mary), late Theresa Prentice, late Terry Corbett (Elda) and the late Tom Corbett (late Shirley). She will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her very special friend Gordie Fleming. Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Babs was a trailblazer. Fast on the ice for the Pim Hill Bullets, renowned for her skill on the stage and dance floor, a founding member of the Sault Theatre Workshop. Her cottage at Alona Bay was her centre of tranquility and she spent countless hours there enjoying nature with family and friends. Babs was a highly respected senior Canadian broadcast executive. Her impressive career, which began in the Sault, included television positions at CFCF, CTV and CBC in Montreal and Toronto. Babs gave herself completely to everything she did, she will be missed by all. “Time passed and something happened.” Special thanks to staff on Apple 2 at the F. J. Davey Home for their care and compassion. At Babs' request there will be no funeral services but friends are welcome to visit with the family at her home between 12 -4 pm on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Babs has requested in lieu of flowers donations be made to Sault Area Hospital, Group Health Trust Fund or the charity of your choice.
