MILLIGAN, James Randall

Jimmie passed away peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the age of 71.  Dear husband of Carol (Elliott) for almost 50 years.  Loving Father of Elizabeth Coutu (Jody) of Sault Ste. Marie, Jennifer Murphy (Jodi) of Courtenay, B.C., and Christine Rhody (Christopher) of Barrie.  Very special Grandpa (Bubba) of Emily Coutu, and Jolene & Justine Murphy.  Son of the late Randall and Elizabeth Milligan of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.  Son-in-law of the late Cecil and Mary Elliott.  Dear Brother of Corwin (Corky) Milligan (Joyce), and the late Margaret Stegall (late Walt) of Iowa.  Dear Brother-in-law of Norman Elliott (Dorine), Betty Anne Brown (late Al), John Elliott (Patricia), and Frank Elliott (Susan).  Favourite Uncle and Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Cherished Friend of too many to mention.  In his younger days Jimmie actively participated in bowling, baseball, hockey and bocce – in his later years he loved watching any sporting event on TV, but was especially fond of all the Detroit teams.  He also enjoyed many, many years of camping both at Young State Park and Whiskey Bay.  He was happiest when he was making someone laugh or feeding them a good meal.  In following with his wishes we will be having a Celebration of Life party at Bucci’s Place (formerly the Verdi Hall) on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 2 – 5 pm.  All family and friends are welcome to come and enjoy each other’s company, share their stories about Jimmie, and have a laugh or two.  Cremation has taken place.  Thanks to his caring Drs. Wacker, Bignell, and Beuhner, and also to the helpful and caring staffs at CCAC, We Care, Bayshore, and the nursing staff at SAH.  Special thanks to the amazing staff and volunteers at ARCH for making Jimmie’s final journey a beautiful experience both for him and his family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to ARCH would be greatly appreciated.  Expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com
