BERNARD, Grace Elizabeth

Passed away peacefully at ARCH on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the age of 87.  Beloved wife of the late Andrew Bernard.  Loving  mother of Hilary Lauzon (George) and John (Diana).  Dear grandmother of Kate Ketis (Rob) and Carolyn Côté (Marc), Heather and Matthew Bernard.   Great grandmother of Gabriel Côté.  Predeceased by her parents Grace (James Doherty) and E.E. Freeman.  Sister of the late George Freeman (Jean), Dorothy Clark (late Allan) and Ernest Freeman (Isabel). Grace will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.  Grace was an outgoing, friendly, independent adventurer who travelled the world, finally settling in Sault Ste. Marie, where she became an active community member. She loved to travel, read and garden and was also an avid knitter; making hundreds of mitts for Christmas Cheer and prayer shawls for St. Matthew’s prayer shawl ministry. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Grace’s life at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church (1643 Wellington Street East) on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 12 noon until time of Memorial service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Patrick McManus officiating.  Memorial donations to St. Matthew’s Anglican Church or ARCH would be appreciated by the family.  Special thank you to Rev.
