Peacefully passed away at home in the loving arms of his wife Valerie on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the age of 65. Cherished father of Shari Kingston (Richard) and Michael Zuke (Angie). Very proud grandfather of Caelan Kingston and William Zuke. Son of the late Alex and Barbara Zuke/Forbes. Step-son of the late Gordon Forbes. Son-in-law of the late Bill and Velma Springgay. Brother of Carol Zuke Naslovar, Bob Zuke, Debbie Zuke, and Randy Forbes. Brother-in-law of Ted Springgay, Patti Turgeon (Rene), and Bill Springgay (Margo Josey). Fondly remembered by his aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Affectionately remembered by many great friends.
Mike spent many years in the field of gymnastics and he was inducted into the Sault Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. He enjoyed working with young people as a gymnastics coach and also as a teacher with the Algoma District School Board. He was always busy creating, fixing, and building things for people. He loved his family and always made them his top priority. His favourite saying was “Life is Good” and he was grateful for all the wonderful experiences he shared with his family and friends.
As a tribute to Mike, a come and go “Celebration of Life” gathering will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 6:00 until 9:00pm at Delta Waterfront Hotel in the Brule room. The family really appreciates the wonderful care Mike received from the Revera Home Care nurses, the Community Care Access Center, and the staff at the Cancer Clinic. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
