Passed away peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Saviour on April 15, 2014 with her family by her side.  Beloved wife of Louis Horwath with 54 years of marriage.  Loving mother of Robin Horwath (Susan), Denise Phipps (Rodney) and Rick Horwath (Trena Horwath).  Special Grandmother to Melissa Jensen (Fred), Matthew Horwath, Danielle Butson (Jeff), Nathan Phipps (Connie), Jonathan Phipps (fiancé Lucy), Samantha Horwath and William Horwath.  Special Great Grandmother to Lucas and Avery Grace Buston.  Dear sister to Kay Henry (Dave), Shirley Spear (Tom), James Temple and Sheryl Temple.  Dear Sister-in Law to Ruby Reid.  Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Vera Temple, in-laws Louie and Ruby Horwath, her brother Thomas Temple and brother in law Donald Reid.  She will be fondly missed by many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.  Nancy was born in Flint Michigan on October 26, 1940.  Her family moved to Vassar Michigan where she went to High School and met the love of her life and best friend for 54 years.  Nancy was a real inspiration to her family and others that she met on her journey of life.  Nancy not only raised 3 children but she worked at Super Foods and Meirs Motor Freight in Vassar MI.  She also worked in Iowa for John Deere while Louie attended Bible College.  In 1972, Nancy and Louie moved their family to Blind River, Ontario where they ran a tourist business together.  Nancy also worked at the Royal Bank and then worked for Sault College for 22 years.  Nancy was an inspiration to many people as a result of her awesome faith in God and her Love for Life. There will be a visitation held for Nancy on Friday, April 18 at the Calvary Gospel Church (55 Queen St) in Blind River from 7:00 – 9:00 pm and the funeral to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 am from the church. The interment in Riverside Cemetery, Vassar, Michigan will be on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2:00 pm.  Memorial contributions to the Gideon Bibles or the Calvary Gospel Church would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the Menard Funeral Home in Blind River, ON.  A special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Blind River District Health Centre who provided such compassionate wonderful care for Nancy in her courageous battle with cancer.

The family of Frosty is extremely sad to announce his sudden passing at home on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the age of 78. Born March 12, 1936, he was the beloved first born son of the late Ruby and William Kerr Harper. Loving brother of Maxwell Harper, Arlyne Erdman, Pauline Costello (Vern), Melville Harper, Kirk Harper, Tammy Peterson (Allan), late Nora Boland (late Fred) and the late Walter Harper (Nancy). Forst was loved by all who knew him. He had a kind heart and was always ready to share a joke or story. He was well known for his involvement over the years with the Elks and the Eagles, where he was past President. Forst was a loyal Montreal Canadian fan all his life “Go Habs Go”. He always said ‘I will do it my way’ and his final wish was granted. He had many friends over the years that were like family to him. He will be missed. “God bless you Forst” make your jams and preserves for Mom, Dad, Nora and Walter and watch over us from above until we meet again dear brother, uncle and friend. Marie, Fadilah Muhammad (Al Amin) of Athol MA. She was the inspirational grandmother to Michael (Amanda) and Craig (Dana) Sutton, Lerato Vilakazi-Jackson (Marcus), Tariq, Suni, Bahjah, Mahasin, Faheem (Sashka) and Aabidah Muhammad. It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of a treasured husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather, Vincent Caicco.  Vincent was born in Cleto, Italy April 9, 1930 and passed away peacefully Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Sault Area Hospital with his family by his side.  Vincent's life was blessed with 57 years of marriage to Franca, their children Marilyn (late Fabio) Nicastro (Michael Sebecic), Eby Gioia (Sam), grandchildren Carrie Hallaran (Jesse), Korina McClellan (Zak), Cesare Gioia (Sonya), along with newest great grandson Sam Cesare Gioia.  Vincent was born to late Raffaele and Louisa Caicco, brother to late Ernesto Caicco (late Giuseppina), late Anna Chiarello (late Salvatore), Alfred and Maria Caicco, late Elvira Bruni (late Luigi), late Maria Caicco, Santino Caicco (late Emma).  Son in law of the late Gaetano and Amelia Nesi. Brother in law of Peppino Nesi (Lucia), late Nicolas Nesi, Elio Nesi, Ornella Raffa (Carmelo), late Rosalba Mordenti (Alfonso), Gianfranco Nesi (Valentina). Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Vincent worked at Algoma Steel as a highly respected crane operator for over 30 years. He owned V. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. April 12 at Turner and Porter, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto. Cremation and a private family interment are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Msgr. Raymond Henry Farrell: 1928-2014

Son of the late Josephine Henrietta Buschmann and Maurice Joseph Farrell. Born on June 16, 1928 in Port Colborne, seventh of ten children.

Father Ray attended Copper Cliff Public and High Schools and graduated from Western University in 1950 with a philosophy degree. He completed his theology studies at St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario and was ordained on May 27, 1954 in North Bay. His first solemn Mass was celebrated on May 30, 1954 at St. Stanislaus Church in Copper Cliff.

Father Ray was a curate at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption in North Bay from 1954 to 1956. He was then assigned to Elliot Lake where he was responsible for the building of Our Lady of Fatima Church and established a parish.

In 1967 he was assigned to Blessed Sacrament Parish in Sault Ste Marie where Bishop Alex Carter bestowed upon him the title of Monsignor. He opened the House of Our Lady of Hope, a centre for spiritual growth. He then became pastor of Christ the King Church in Sudbury from 1981 to 1987. From there he was transferred to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish where he initiated a continuous 24-hour adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Father Ray was predeceased by his siblings, Father Francis S.J. (Darjeeling, India), Rita (North Bay), Patrick M.D. (Sudbury), Margaret Cainen (Dartmouth, N.S., husband Larry predeceased), Maurice M.D. (Sudbury, wife Ginny Hamilton predeceased).

He is survived by Sister Mary Farrell C.N.D. (Kingston), Rose Heffernan (the late Burt, North Bay), Bernadette (Montreal), Maureen (Sault Ste Marie), sister-in-law Barbara Farrell (Sudbury). He is also survived by 19 nieces and nephews and 35 great nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to our niece Martha and husband Wayne Auchinleck who with their loving dedication gave of their time and care to Father Ray. Also, to his family, friends, parishioners, your love and concern is deeply appreciated; and finally thanks to the caregivers at St. Joseph’s Villa and Finlandia Village. Father enjoyed his family, friends, his camp on Lake Little Penage, cribbage, golf and hockey.

Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Road, Sudbury, Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Sudbury Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call 2-5; 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the church with vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society Sudbury-Manitoulin, St. Joseph’s Foundation of Sudbury, Finlandia Village or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
