Peacefully with family and friends by her side at Algoma Manor, Thessalon on Monday April 14, 2014.  Orma Scissons in her 94th year, beloved wife of The Late Bob Scissons for 57 years.  Loving mother of Elaine Brown ( Allan ) of Sault Ste. Marie, Linda Kent ( Doug ) of Toronto and Ford Scissons ( Nancy ) of Thessalon.  Special Grama to Dawn Dawson ( Murray ), Dara Rankin ( Dave ), Melissa Millar ( Jeff), Amanda Kent, Kelly Scissons, Ryan Scissons ( Alicia ), Kyle Scissons and Great Grama  to Rebecca and Alex Dawson, Meadow and Cooper Rankin, Brandon and Brianna Scissons.  Dear daughter of the late James and Lily Jack. Jack was brother-in-law to the late Archie (Gwen), Mabel, Charles (Jean), and is survived by Don (Rose), Frank, Peggy (Peter) Bishop, Richard (Shelia), Ronald (Cheryl), and the late Julie (Preston) Paynter. The family of Frosty is extremely sad to announce his sudden passing at home on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the age of 78. Born March 12, 1936, he was the beloved first born son of the late Ruby and William Kerr Harper. Loving brother of Maxwell Harper, Arlyne Erdman, Pauline Costello (Vern), Melville Harper, Kirk Harper, Tammy Peterson (Allan), late Nora Boland (late Fred) and the late Walter Harper (Nancy). Forst was loved by all who knew him. He had a kind heart and was always ready to share a joke or story. He was well known for his involvement over the years with the Elks and the Eagles, where he was past President. Forst was a loyal Montreal Canadian fan all his life “Go Habs Go”. He always said ‘I will do it my way’ and his final wish was granted. He had many friends over the years that were like family to him. He will be missed. “God bless you Forst” make your jams and preserves for Mom, Dad, Nora and Walter and watch over us from above until we meet again dear brother, uncle and friend. There will be no funeral service as per Forst’s wishes. He will be cremated. Interment West Korah Cemetery. It is with profound sadness that the Morgan family announces the passing of Eric Hugh Morgan in his 36th year on Friday April 11 at the Sault Area Hospital.  Eric was the loving husband of Heidi (nee Frech) and devoted father of Maxwell Morgan.  Beloved son of Bruce and Linda Morgan of Thessalon, Ontario.  Brother to Mike (Paula) of Bruce Mines and fun loving uncle to their children Mack and Jake.  Son-in-law to Steve and Gonny Frech of St Joseph Island and brother-in-law of Stefaan Jan.  Eric spent his career as President of Birchland Plywood-Veneer Ltd. and was well respected in the industry.  In his leisure time he enjoyed the outdoors and he especially looked forward to the turning of the leaves so he could go bird hunting with his family.  In keeping with Eric’s wishes there will be a private family service.  Cremation has taken place with spring interment in the family plot at Pine Grove Cemetery.  The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff on ICU and 300B of the Sault Area Hospital for their care and compassion.  Donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation gratefully accepted.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon, Ontario  www.beggsfh.com

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Steve Sullivan April 9, 2014 at his home in Sault Ste. Marie at the age of 61. He is the son of Mae and late Tom Sullivan.
Steve was much loved by his Mother and siblings; Ed (Colleen), late Wayne (Jackie), Linda (Don), Brenda (Jim), his beloved dog Brandy and his many nieces and nephews.

Of Sault Ste. Marie, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 in her 101st year. Maisie was born in Georgetown, Guyana to Emily (Archer) and Norman McLean on May 30, 1913. Maisie is preceded in death by her husband, John Archibald, her sisters Iris Stoll, Elma Shepherd, and Doris Applewhaite and her brother Eddie.  Maisie is survived by her children, Gerard (Cynthia) and Jennifer of Sault Ste. Marie, Fadilah Muhammad (Al Amin) of Athol MA. She was the inspirational grandmother to Michael (Amanda) and Craig (Dana) Sutton, Lerato Vilakazi-Jackson (Marcus), Tariq, Suni, Bahjah, Mahasin, Faheem (Sashka) and Aabidah Muhammad. Great Grandmother to Palmer, Braelyn Maisie, Alivia, Thandi, Neo, Ciyanne, Sitarra, Khali, and Shakir.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.  Memorial, committal service with reception to follow will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 10 am at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 705-759-2522. It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of a treasured husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather, Vincent Caicco.  Vincent was born in Cleto, Italy April 9, 1930 and passed away peacefully Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Sault Area Hospital with his family by his side.  Vincent's life was blessed with 57 years of marriage to Franca, their children Marilyn (late Fabio) Nicastro (Michael Sebecic), Eby Gioia (Sam), grandchildren Carrie Hallaran (Jesse), Korina McClellan (Zak), Cesare Gioia (Sonya), along with newest great grandson Sam Cesare Gioia.  Vincent was born to late Raffaele and Louisa Caicco, brother to late Ernesto Caicco (late Giuseppina), late Anna Chiarello (late Salvatore), Alfred and Maria Caicco, late Elvira Bruni (late Luigi), late Maria Caicco, Santino Caicco (late Emma).  Son in law of the late Gaetano and Amelia Nesi. Brother in law of Peppino Nesi (Lucia), late Nicolas Nesi, Elio Nesi, Ornella Raffa (Carmelo), late Rosalba Mordenti (Alfonso), Gianfranco Nesi (Valentina). Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Vincent worked at Algoma Steel as a highly respected crane operator for over 30 years. He owned V. Msgr. Raymond Henry Farrell: 1928-2014

Son of the late Josephine Henrietta Buschmann and Maurice Joseph Farrell. Born on June 16, 1928 in Port Colborne, seventh of ten children.

Father Ray attended Copper Cliff Public and High Schools and graduated from Western University in 1950 with a philosophy degree. He completed his theology studies at St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario and was ordained on May 27, 1954 in North Bay. His first solemn Mass was celebrated on May 30, 1954 at St. Stanislaus Church in Copper Cliff.

Father Ray was a curate at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption in North Bay from 1954 to 1956. He was then assigned to Elliot Lake where he was responsible for the building of Our Lady of Fatima Church and established a parish.

In 1967 he was assigned to Blessed Sacrament Parish in Sault Ste Marie where Bishop Alex Carter bestowed upon him the title of Monsignor. He opened the House of Our Lady of Hope, a centre for spiritual growth. He then became pastor of Christ the King Church in Sudbury from 1981 to 1987. From there he was transferred to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish where he initiated a continuous 24-hour adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Father Ray was predeceased by his siblings, Father Francis S.J. (Darjeeling, India), Rita (North Bay), Patrick M.D. (Sudbury), Margaret Cainen (Dartmouth, N.S., husband Larry predeceased), Maurice M.D. (Sudbury, wife Ginny Hamilton predeceased).

He is survived by Sister Mary Farrell C.N.D. (Kingston), Rose Heffernan (the late Burt, North Bay), Bernadette (Montreal), Maureen (Sault Ste Marie), sister-in-law Barbara Farrell (Sudbury). He is also survived by 19 nieces and nephews and 35 great nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to our niece Martha and husband Wayne Auchinleck who with their loving dedication gave of their time and care to Father Ray. Also, to his family, friends, parishioners, your love and concern is deeply appreciated; and finally thanks to the caregivers at St. Joseph’s Villa and Finlandia Village. Father enjoyed his family, friends, his camp on Lake Little Penage, cribbage, golf and hockey.

Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Road, Sudbury, Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10 a.m. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Sudbury Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call 2-5; 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the church with vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

WEIGEL, Andrew

In his 55th year, unexpectedly passed away on April 6th, 2014 with his wife Susan ( Kovacs ) by his side.  A loving and devoted father to their daughter Carmen.  He was born and raised in Kitchener.  Son of the late Fred Weigel ( deceased ) and Dr. Marga Weigel.  Andrew graduated from Heriot-Watt University with an MBA in finance.  He had many other designations, but nothing was more important to him than sharing his knowledge with the many students he employed at the Carolyn Beach Motor Inn ( Thessalon ) and the Bayview Dining Lounge ( Zurich ).  He took great joy in seeing others do well.  His inspiration of knowledge came from his mother.  He had an extensive career in hospitality, including Cara Operations ( youngest divisional controller ), Ellis Don ( Director of Finance at the Windjammer in St. Lucia ) as well as managing resorts in Muskoka and Southern Ontario.  He had a great passion for music and native art.  He enjoyed his annual male bonding fishing trips with Guy and Wally.  Andrew treasured the time spent travelling the world with the love of his life Susan during their 28 year marriage.  Love you forever, pray for you always.  Love Susan and Carmen.    In remembrance of Andrew please consider a random act of kindness to someone in need.  Church service will be held at St. Gerard Magella, Sault Ste. On April 7, 2014 Helen Loretta Bailey (Whalen) passed away.  Free from a painful battle with cancer our gentle angel is finally at peace.  Though our sorrow is great our memories of a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and true friend will live in our hearts forever.  Helen is survived by her husband of 74 years, Leonard Peter Bailey, daughter Sylvia Soucie (Doug) of Elliot Lake, son Leonard Bailey (Marsha Farrell) of Sault Ste. Marie.  Grandchildren Kimberley White (Paul Tonin) of Toronto, William White of Cottlesville of N.L., Christine Stitt (Rod Cameron) of Goulais Bay, Sheila Patrick (Tom), Cheryl Bailey all of Sault Ste. Marie and Derick Bailey (Angela) of Garden River and 14 great grandchildren.  Helen is also survived  by 3 of 9 siblings, Hilda Oullette, August and Albert Whalen.  Predeceased siblings, Victor, George and Edmond Whalen, Emma Evens, Agnes Artuso and Doreen Seguin.  A private Memorial Service will be held.  Memorial contributions to the F.J. Dave Home in her memory would be greatly appreciated.  The family wishes to thank the staff of Driftwood 1 at the F.J. Boger, Joanne (Bennett)

Joanne Boger (nee Bennett) of Whittemore, Michigan, formerly of Bruce Mines, Ontario, passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2014 with her children and faithful four-legged companion, Boozer, just weeks short of her 70th birthday, following a courageous battle with cancer. Joanne was born on April 27, 1944, to Joseph and Evelyn (nee Micks) Bennett. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Boger.  She is survived and will be missed by her children Doug (Donna) Bennett, Bonnie (Steve) Netherton and Stacey Bennett and her grandchildren Jared, Jamie, Cole, Emma and Erikka.   Loved sister of  Maudie (Maxie), Caleb (Sharla), Art (Connie), Rick (Jane), Donna (the late Fred), Reg and the late Tom.  She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and close friends in Michigan and Ontario. In honoring her wishes, private cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the Canadian FOP Network, www.cfopn.org, would be appreciated.

Proud mother of Glenn MacKay(Patty), Michael MacKay (Michele), Steven MacKay(Denise), Robert Jackson(Nattawadee Rompochee), Scott Jackson(Carol), Margo Clare(Lex) who will forever cherish their treasured memories. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the age of 54.  Rose is the mother of two daughters, Diane Harrison and Marriah Mellea, and her late son Barry Harrison.  She is the eldest daughter of Carmen and Marisa Mellea.  Sister of Joanne Horne (Steve) and the late Susan Fleming.  Auntie Rose to Jessica, Nicole, and the late Gregory.  Rose will be remembered by her aunts Anna Cavaliere (Matthew), Maria Brunetta (Gino) and Gina Mellea and her uncles, Joe Fragomeni (late Adrianna) and Frank Pizzari (Linda) as well as many cousins.  We thank them all for their love and support at this difficult time.
