Peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2013, in his 80th year.  Born October 26th, 1932 in Strongfield, Saskatchewan, one of three children born to Russell and Ella (Johnston) Francis.  Beloved husband of 54 years for Lorita Zarattini.  Dear father of Ron (Mary Lou) and Ricky.  Loving grandfather of Katilyn, Michael and Connor.  Brother of the late Doreen Clark and the late Irene Chown who are survived by their children Jack and Jim Clark, Gayle Ketola and Larry, David and Danny Chown.  He was known for his kind, caring personality, sense of family and his strong work ethic.  He worked 40 years in the Rail Mill at Algoma Steel.  His free time was spent enjoying his sons’ athletic endeavors, helping coach numerous Special Olympic teams, spending time with his grandchildren and enjoying his wife’s company (and great cooking).  A man of great integrity, with a dry sense of humor, his memory will live on.  The family had a private funeral service at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre, officiated by Father Pat Woods. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.  A Memorial Mass to celebrate Ron’s life will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.  Our family would like to thank the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Clinic, Radiation Department, Mindy and the nurses on 300B and the wonderful caring staff at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice.  Thanks also to Dr’s Ziana, Gieni and Spadafora.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) or the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Care Fund.  www.northwoodfuneral.com

With heavy hearts, the family of Antonio Giunti would like to announce his passing peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday, May 18th, 2013 at the age of 96.  Reunited with his late wife Carmela Giunti (nee Iacoe), who he loved dearly. Son of the late Pasquale and Francesca Giunti. Loving father of Francesca Bernardo (Frank), Jenny Gaudenzi (Daniel), and Anne Gencarelli (John). Cherished grandfather of Anthony Bernardo, late Robert Bernardo, Andrea Gaudenzi, and John and Jessica Gencarelli. Beloved great grandfather of Evangeline Bridge-Bernardo. Dear brother of the late Anne Coccimiglio (late Antonio), Giovanni Giunti (Angela), Eugenia Coccimiglio (late Francesco), Ermenia Coccimiglio (late Vittorio), Fiorenzo Giunti (late Eva), Amelia (late Emilio) and the late Eugenia Giunti. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Antonio lived a full and adventurous life. He was a proud man of integrity and compassion. He will especially be remembered for his kind heart, boundless energy and the joy he experienced from sharing stories. He eagerly shared his talent for gardening with others. He was loved by all who met him and he will be missed dearly. Antonio enjoyed living at Collegiate Heights among friends. The kindness and support from fellow residents and staff will never be forgotten. Many cherished memories will remain with us forever. On May 15, 2013 our beloved mother grabbed a sunbeam and is now celebrating and dancing in the presence of our Lord.  Sharon Rose was an amazing example of love, prayer and devotion to her six children Jocelyn (Darren Derbowka), Anne (Ray Visconti), Elaine (Craig Randa), Adrienne (Aaron Provenzano), Colin (Natasha Doyle) and Ryan Doyle.  Her faith was the stronghold in her life raising her children, being an attentive grandmother and battling her Parkinson’s illness.  She thoroughly loved and enjoyed Ronan, Cian, Kade, Taner, Tiana, Destiny, D.J., Isaac, Elias, Olivia, Samuel, Ava, Lacey and Jude.  She will be missed by all her brothers, sisters, friends and extended family.  As a nurse our mother treated people with loving care and respect and in turn received that same care from the Davey Home.  Memorial mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. with Father Pat Woods officiating. Peacefully with dignity and with his family by his side at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the age of 85. Devoted and loving husband of Mary for 59 wonderful years. Beloved father of Patti Massicotte (Bill Nolan) of Edmonton, Kathi Rankin (Bill Wolowich) of Sault Ste. Marie and Michael Massicotte of Calgary. Adoring grandfather of Justin and Jessica Rankin (Andrew Lay), Kyle (Erin McQuitty), Lauren, Michaela and Liam Nolan, and Lexie Massicotte. Survived by his brother Cecil (Loreen). Predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. He is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews. Willie was the youngest of nine children and was born and raised in Sudbury. He was the first President and founder of the SAH Foundation and was a member of its Board of Directors. He was the past President of the Chartered Accountants Association of Sault Ste. Marie, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus with an integral role in obtaining the cell separator for the Sault Area Hospital. He was a graduate of Queens University where he obtained his Chartered Accountant designation. Willie was one of two founding members of Tessier Massicotte  & Partners  which subsequently became BDO Canada. Willie will be remembered fondly for his love of numbers, his wonderful sense of humour, numerous jokes, his love of a party and his love for his camp in Batchawana. (June 27, 1931 – May 14, 2013) - Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie.  Mike met his wife in Wawa where they spent their life until 2009.  Known as Big Mike, he passed peacefully at ARCH with his family by his side during his last remaining days.  Survived by his devoted wife, Raymonde, of 54 years, his loving daughters, Martha Brant (Perry), Paulette O’Brien (Tim), Lucille Leclerc (Gerard) and Yvonne Smith (Stuart); grandchildren Clint and Coralee Lahey; Allan (Heather), Shannon and Hélène O’Brien; Michelle and Saleah Leclerc.  He also leaves behind four great grandchildren, Hannah, Lyla, Liam and special “Papa Michael” to Colton Michael.  Predeceased by five brothers and survived by two sisters and sisters-in-law.  Mike’s memory will also be cherished by Raymonde’s family.  Uncle Mike will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.  A heartfelt thanks to all those who contributed to Mike’s care and comfort and supported the family during this journey. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mike’s life during a come and go at Collegiate Heights on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm.  In respecting Mike’s wishes there will be no funeral service.  Cremation has taken place and a burial will be held at a later date at Woodland Cemetery in Wawa.
