The Soo North Stars lost game three at the Big Nickel Tournament tonight to the hands of the Kitchener Jr. Rangers by a score of 2-0

The game was scoreless after two periods. Then at 10:20 of the third period, Kitchener scored to take a 1-0 lead.

The North Stars pulled goaltender Paul Orlando in favour of an extra attacker and were buzzing the Kitchener net when Kitchener iced the puck and it ended up in the net for the empty net goal at 00:36 of the third period.

Next action for the North Stars is at 3:30 p.m. Saturday against the Vaughn Kings.

The North Stars won their second game of the Big Nickel Tournament this afternoon with a 4-2 victory over the Kapuskasing Flyers.

Jake Patterson was in goal for the win.

Scoring for the North Stars were:

1. Brandon Warmington from Jake Wright at 12:17 of the first period.
2. Brandon Warmington from Aidan Wright and Brian Nanne at 1:36 of the second period while on the power play.
3. Justin Cooke unassisted at 5:39 of the third period.
4. Brandon Warmington from Jake Wright and Justin Cooke at 00:51 of the third period into an empty net.
