Local rinks off to Dominion Curling Club provincials

Two locals rinks are off to the Dominion Curling Club Championship Provincials beginning Friday at the Copper Cliff Curling Club.

Gino Pasqua skips the Soo Curlers Association entry on the men's side. Pasqua is joined by vice Duncan Janveau, second Dennis Lethbridge and lead Warren Rhude.

Stephanie Sammon leads the local women's entry from Tarentorus Sports Club. Joining Sammon is vice Jamie Sammon, second Kelsey Janveau, lead Andrea Boyd-Quackenbush and fifth Helen Stewart.

Both teams will begin round robin play Friday morning in the six-team events. The top two teams will meet in each final on Sunday morning at 9 a.m.

The Dominion Curling Club Championship is an event geared for the club curler and will culminate with National Champions being declared November 24–29 at the St. George’s Golf and Country Club in Etobicoke.

The six men’s teams and six women’s teams have qualified through regional playdowns for this competition.
