Two boards of directors, both claiming to be responsible for the Indian Friendship Centre at 122 East Street, are planning general membership meetings over the next two weeks.

A board headed by William Bellerose today called on its members to attend a meeting on Tuesday, June 18, at 7 p.m. at the centre's meeting hall at 29 Wellington Street East.

That meeting is called "for the sole purpose of discussing the roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of the board of directors."

Meanwhile, a newly formed board headed by Joe Nolan announced yesterday that it's convening a general meeting of Friendship Centre members on Thursday, June 20, to remove the board of directors.

That gathering will be at 7 p.m., also at 29 Wellington St.
